WALL CABIN
Located in Brown County, the Wall Cabin is NEON's first exploration into designing and building in the trees. Situated at the top of a hill, the Wall Cabin embraces its surroundings, working with the topography to create a design unique to its setting.
The design focuses around a center spine - the concrete block wall - off which all of the spaces are organized. As you approach the house, the living volume sits concealed behind this central spine, give the house a modest, minimal stance in the landscape, appearing as a black box hanging off the block wall. As you approach the entry, the living volume reveals itself, perched atop the hill, overlooking the trees and valley below. Moving through the space, the volume opens up to its surroundings, giving visitors to the Wall Cabin a clean, modern, engaged experience, embracing its natural setting.
