Position Summary

 

The Construction Manager position at NEON will play a significant role in the team and requires a self-starter who possesses project management expertise, and great communication. The ideal candidate will contribute to NEON by monitoring completion of each construction phase through coordination of Construction Carpenters, scheduling trades, and inspection of each home. The Construction Manager will ensure quality craftsmanship in accordance with NEON standards.

 

Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities for our Construction Manager would be:

 

• Schedule and supervise daily trade and construction carpenter activities in accordance with project schedule and ensure quality control; monitor progress including delivery and use of materials, supplies, tools, machinery, and equipment.

• Assists in budgeting time requirements to complete each phase of construction and meet deadlines from pre-construction activity to completion

• Reviews and analyzes site plans and construction documents in order to monitor and ensure compliance with plan specifications

• Provides and applies appropriate training methods and standards to construction carpenters and subcontractors; monitors and enforces safety onsite 

• Conducts pre-construction meetings with clients; resolves client service issues and production problems during construction phase to maintain client satisfaction

• Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients

• Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications

• Communicate with project staff to exchange information and solve problems

• Build pool of new subcontractors as well as develop relationships with existing subcontractors

• Ensure job site cleanliness

 

Ideally, Candidates will have the following qualifications: 

 

• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

• Passion for sustainable design and construction, including researching and learning new methods of construction.

• Knowledge of the construction industry practices, procedures, and market trends.

• Dedicated, well-organized, able to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.

• Detail-oriented, with the ability to focus on quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, and resource management skills.

• Ability to interact, develop, and maintain a positive professional relationship with all team members.

• A learning leader's mindset; welcomes training and coaching; and assumes responsibility for their own work

• Willingness for occasional travel as necessary
