Position Summary

 

The Construction Field Technician position at NEON will play a significant role in the team and requires a self-starter who possesses the drive to learn and execute various construction worksite tasks and has an interest in learning more about architecture and design. The ideal candidate will contribute to NEON by completing various construction tradework on multiple projects, ensuring safety and a clean worksite, and taking pride and ownership in all tasks assigned. An eagerness and excitement to learn new methods of construction and installation is a must, including new materials and products. On-the-job training will be provided as needed.

Full-time or Part-time opportunity available at a range of $38,000 - $44,000 / year or $20 - $25 / hr.
 

Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities for our Construction Field Technician would be:

 

• Perform work assignments (including but not limited to: framing, roofing, flooring, trim carpentry, painting, cleaning) in a professional and courteous manner

• Review installation and instruction manuals prior to all work carried out to ensure proper task execution according to manufacturer specifications

• Display competence in using general tools, and troubleshooting minor equipment maintenance issues

• Communicate any and all worksite needs or concerns to the Construction Manager

• Maintain high standards of workmanship

• Ensure job site cleanliness and upkeep of tools and equipment

• Prepare daily logs for work performed and inventory of materials on site during work day

 

Ideally, Candidates will have the following qualifications:

• Reliable and hardworking

• Excellent communication skills

• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

• Passion for sustainable design and construction

• Appreciation of good craftsmanship

• Willingness for occasional travel as necessary

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more 

• Ability to or willingness to learn to operate various types of equipment and tools 

• Ability to work outdoors, consistently, for extended periods of time, in various weather conditions, including snow
